Today our column "Borgo Scopeto according to the staff" returns to the kitchen, with Samuel.
Samuel is from Siena (from the Contrada dell'Oca, he is keen to clarify), he is our Sous Chef and has been working in Borgo since 2021, but I had already worked at "La Tinaia" as Head of Party in 2010, 2017 and 2018.
What is your favorite place of the Borgo?
I really like the restaurant terrace but also the main pool.
The most beautiful view or landscape in your opinion?
If you walk towards the vegetable garden and look towards Siena there is a beautiful glimpse towards sunset that I love to watch.
What activities would you suggest that the hotel offers (inside and out)?
Everything that is in contact with nature; from walks in the green spaces, to walks in the vineyard and tours of the cellars, but also venturing into the woods with environmental guides where the various plants present are described.
Surroundings to visit?
Very close to Borgo Scopeto is the very impressive Chianti Sculpture Park. Otherwise with the car a nice ride to Montalcino and Pienza, I suggest.
What is your favourite dish?
My favorite dish to prepare is spaghetti with tomato sauce because in its simplicity it manages to exploit the flavors of the vegetable garden with a result worthy of more elaborate dishes.
