Borgo Scopeto promotes art in all its forms. From Oct. 2 to Nov. 10, the exhibition ''Recondita Armonia Puccini 100” by Tuscan artist Maurizio Baccili will be on display.
a series of Contemporary Musical Scores created by Maurizio Baccili as a tribute to Maestro Giacomo Puccini, on the occasion of the centenary of his death. Scores representing the acts of some of the most famous operas including Tosca, Manon Lescaut, Madama Butterfly, Le Villi.
“The Contemporary Musical Score,“ Maurizio Baccili explains, ‘unlike the traditional one, is composed of a ’multigram,” in place of the traditional stave, in which the entire act is developed in a single draft, that is, a pictorial canvas. Higher notes are represented by darker colors while lower ones by lighter chronomes; intermediate tones, on the other hand, describe duration and amplitude. It all stems from my passion for music and my childhood memory of the perforated paper 'sheet music' of crank organs.”
To celebrate the inauguration we will toast together in our Enoteca La Cisterna, and then continue with dinner at La Tinaia restaurant with a musical accompaniment of Puccini's operas arranged in jazz keys by two young Sienese musicians.
